The property at 20 Victoria Road, Formby, was built as part of a redevelopment of the site of a large property to create 8 new properties within a new residential cul-de-sac, Mayfield Court. 20 Victoria Rd had always sat apart from the other houses within the development in terms of its orientation and materials.
Our approach for a new property on the site set out to reinforce its relationship with the Victoria Rd streetscape. Recognising the site’s primary orientation freed us from the constraint of "fitting in" with the Mayfield Court properties, and begin to imagine a bolder and more original design aesthetic.
