Work starts on site to build 45 affordable homes for Prescot
Work has started on-site at Dye House, a 45-unit, 100% affordable housing development in Prescot we are delivering in partnership with Onward Homes.
Complexity & responsibility
This is a project that comes with both complexity and responsibility, and as a team with strong roots in Prescot, it is one we have felt personally invested in from the outset.
By leading both the design and development process, we have been able to shape the scheme from first principles through to delivery.
Every stage of the project, from design through to development, has been informed by local knowledge, a respect for the site’s natural setting beside Prescot Brook and protected woodland, and a clear ambition to make a positive contribution to the town’s ongoing revival.
Our design won support from Knowsley Council’s Planning Committee, in recognition of its sensitive and inventive response to a key site.
Tyson Construction are now on site to deliver 19 houses, 6 apartments and 20 cottage-style apartments for Onward Homes, with 50% of the site retained as green space alongside extensive new tree planting.
Our approach carefully balances built and natural elements to suggest a community that has evolved from its setting rather than being imposed upon them.
We have focused on creating a genuine sense of community and place, ensuring the scheme sits as a natural extension of Prescot.
An inclusive and eclectic demographic mix
With team members who grew up in the area it’s been great to see the revival of Prescot with the transformational Shakespeare of the North providing a real catalyst for economic and civic renewal.
We are proud to be contributing to that wider momentum.
We hope that the affordable rent-to-buy tenure, and diverse range of property types, will help to foster an inclusive and eclectic demographic mix – a place for everyone that will add something extra to the vitality of a thriving Prescot.
The development involves the demolition of the existing vacant 1970s Dye House to make way for the new residential community.
The wider project team includes Tyson Construction, Group/d Architects, Sutcliffe, Collington Winter, DEP Landscapes.
